Experience an evening with The Church, presented with The Grog Shop at the Union Home Mortgage Plaza.
Few bands enter their fifth decade of making music with all the fierce creative energy of their early years. Even fewer bands are like The Church.
Experiencing a renaissance of sorts with their worldwide critically-hailed 26th album The Hypnogogue and its companion 27th album (that also serves as a worthy standalone) Eros Zeta and the Perfumed Guitars, The Church has witnessed their continued impact to astonishingly grow exponentially in audience size and media attention through not only their new albums but a world tour that took them through North America, the UK, Europe and back home to Australia. Coupled with the 2024 vinyl re-issues of their first four albums – Of Skins & Heart, The Blurred Crusade, Séance, and Heyday – their most recent Australian tour was one of their most successful tours to date. The band also launched an exclusive fan community via a partnership with The Chorus, aptly named nightfriends. It is a first for this storied band – an online experience where fans can receive first dibs on concert and new release presales, have access to unreleased songs/demos/live cuts, never- before-seen live show video content and concert films, behind-the-music essays about the creation of pivotal albums, exclusive band Q&As and Forum interactions, and much more.
2025 is turning into a banner year for the band, getting ready to turn the page and both explore new music and celebrate their impressive catalog with a slew of live dates. Kicking off with their first-ever ‘Singles-centric’ tour this Summer in North America, they will be digging into their catalogue and playing the songs that launched them into mainstream consciousness, including “Metropolis,” “Ripple,” “C’est La Vie”, and of course, “Reptile” and “Under the Milky Way.” They also have a new album – their 28th! – planned for release later this year.
The renowned five-piece line-up is made up of bassist, vocalist and founder Steve Kilbey, along with long-time collaborator, drummer, and producer Tim Powles (a member since 1994), guitarist Ian Haug, multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Cain, and guitarist Ashley Naylor. The Church continue to remain a treasured creative force.

]]>On August 9, 2025, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, will become the site of a once-in-a-lifetime heavy metal extravaganza. The show will feature three legendary acts, past and present, whose Cleveland roots run deep.
NIGHT DEMON have been a worldwide touring juggernaut flying the flag proudly for traditional heavy metal for more than a decade. The trio hail from Ventura, California, but their Cleveland connection is palpable. When they were a new band struggling to find their footing in the 2010s, Night Demon found a home away from home in Cleveland, Ohio, the first place in North America where audiences truly embraced them. The link was solidified when WCJU Metal on Metal listeners voted Night Demon’s Curse of the Damned the album of the year in their listener polls in 2015. The band later recorded their first live album, Live Darkness, in Cleveland as a testament to band and city’s mutual devotion and support.
At the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame show, Night Demon will be performing their debut album, Curse of the Damned, in its entirety to celebrate the album’s 10th anniversary, as well as other Night Demon fan favorites.
DESTRUCTOR are beloved sons of Cleveland who have been keeping the heavy metal faith since 1984. In their 40+ year history, the band has released six full-length albums, the latest being 2023’s Blood, Bone and Fire. They also recently returned from a historic appearance at the True Thrash Fest in Japan.
For this show, Destructor will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album, Maximum Destruction, by performing it in its entirety.
SACRED FEW may not be a household name, but the die-hards recognize the importance of this band to the formative years of Cleveland’s heavy metal history. Their 1985 album, Beyond the Iron Walls, is regarded as a cult classic of the genre. Beloved vocalist Sandy Kruger tragically passed away in 2022. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show will be a tribute to her.

Annie Clark made her recorded debut as St. Vincent in 2007 with Marry Me, quickly becoming regarded as one of the most innovative and fascinating presences in modern music. Her subsequent albums would include Actor (2009), Strange Mercy (2011), her self-titled fourth album and winner of the 2014 GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album.
In 2017, her fifth album MASSEDUCTION would break St. Vincent into the U.S. and UK top 10s and win two more GRAMMYs (Best Rock Song for its title track, and Best Recording Package).
2021’s Daddy’s Home found St. Vincent channeling the hungover glamor and gritty sepia-toned soundtrack of 1970s downtown NYC to an ecstatic reception, ultimately winning her a second Best Alternative Album GRAMMY.
Following a 2021-2022 global tour that reaffirmed St. Vincent’s status as one of live music’s preeminent forces with headline appearances at the likes of the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City Music Hall, Clark would begin work on album number seven: Her first fully self-produced album (having co-produced every one of her previous efforts)—and third Best Alternative Album GRAMMY winner— All Born Screaming is St. Vincent at her most primal.
Featuring Clark leading “a curated group of rippers” through the brawny “Broken Man” (her second Best Rock Song GRAMMY winner), infectious Best Alternative Performance GRAMMY-winning “Flea,” and mordant catwalk sashay through deafening assault of self-loathing that is “Big Time Nothing,” All Born Screaming is equal parts spiritual desolation and rapturous acceptance.
“If you’re born screaming, that’s a great sign,” says Clark, “because it means you’re breathing. You’re alive. My god. It’s joyous. And then it’s also a protest. We’re all born in protest in a certain way. It’s terrifying to be alive, it’s ecstatic to be alive. It’s everything.”
